Description

This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) page located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopses and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to issue solicitation N0002412R4301 for the FY 12 Drydock Selected Restricted Availabilities (DSRAs) of the USS TOLEDO (SSN 769) and USS HARTFORD (SSN 768). The DSRAs include advance planning, engineering and design efforts, prefabrication, and shipyard execution work necessary to prepare and accomplish maintenance and modernization work in support of both the USS TOLEDO DSRA and the USS HARTFORD DSRA. It is anticipated that this will be a non-competitive procurement awarded to Electric Boat Corporation, a nuclear-qualified contractor, located at 75 Eastern Point Road in Groton, Connecticut (zip code 06340). Firms interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact Electric Boat Corporation directly. The DSRAs are scheduled to last slightly less than six months. The DSRAs will be performed in graving docks located at Electric Boat in the ships ™ homeport area of Groton, Connecticut. The solicitation will be issued in December, 2011 with a tentative date for receipt of the proposal in February, 2012. See Numbered Note 22.
