- NOTICE OF INTENT- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (USICE), Office of Acquisition Management (OAQ), on behalf of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to AFIX Technologies, Inc, 205 N Walnut, Pittsburg, Kansas, 66762 for preventative maintenance support for the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) Tracker Systerm. This authority is pursuant to FAR 6.302.1, Only one reasonable source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. AFIX Technology Inc. is the sole manufacturer of this tracker system and maintenance that specializes in the case management for the Forensic Document Laboratory (FDL). The fingerprint unit utilizes the AFIS system to search for unknown subjects. This system is critical for conducting complete examinations of friction ridge details from evidence that leads to the identification of unknown subjects and also links cases from different regions to one another. The NAICS code for this requirement is 541511. Delivery is 30 days after receipt of order. This Notice of Intent is not a request for proposals, quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Requests for copies of a solicitation in response to this notice will not be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for purpose of determining wheter conducting a competitve procurement is in the best interest of the Government. Interested business concerns may identify their capabilities in writing by responding electornically to this notice NLT 1700 hrs, EST, September 15, 2011. All capability information must be in writing and provide clear, concise documentation indicating bona fide capabilities to provide services required. Capability statements shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. Verbal inquires and/or responses will not be considered.
