- NASA/GRC has a requirement for; OUT OF AUTOCLAVE PROCESSABLE BISMALEIMIDE PREPREGIM7 12K 145 gsm / RS8-00A 12 RESIN100# AND OUT OF AUTOCLAVE PROCESSABLEBISMALEIMIDE PREPREG IM7 12K 145 gsm / RS8-00A 6 RESIN 100# NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from TENCATE ADVANCED COMPOSITES USA, 18410BUTTERFIELD BLVD., MORGAN HILLCA 95037. THROUGH MONTHS OF RESEARCH AND STUDIES WE HAVE SEARCHED FOR VENDORS AND ASKED THEM TOIDENTIFY THE READINESS OF THEIR BMI MATERIAL FOR OoA PROCESSING. TENCATE ADCANCEDCOMPOSITES IS THE ONLY COMPANY THAT HAS PROVIDED US WITH PROOF THAT THEIR MATERIAL ISDEEMED NO LONGER DEVELOPMENTAL, BUT READY FOR SALE.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.The Sole Source is under the authority of FAR reference 13.106-1(b)1.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 10:00 a.m. local timeon FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 30TH, 2011. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solelyfor the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on acompetitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed efforton a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solelywithin the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
