- Description
- This acquisition is a Firm Fixed Price contract to procure NVIS compatible interior and exterior lighting production kits in support of the U.S. Air Force (USAF) UH-1N helicopter fleet. The complete effort includes non-recurring engineering, technical data development, trial installation and test support, kit proof support and kit manufacture. The purpose of this acquisition is to upgrade current UH-1N Iroquois helicopter internal lights and replace external light sources to meet Night Vision Goggle (NVG) compliance in accordance with MIL-STD-3009, Lighting, Aircraft, NVIS Compatible and JSSG-2010-5, Joint Service Specification Guide, Crew Systems, Aircraft Lighting Handbook. Upgrading internal and replacing external UH-1N lighting with NVIS compatible lighting will enhance operator's navigation, surveillance, and target acquisition capability during night, low illumination, and adverse conditions. Solicitation FA8552-11-R-32726. Anticipated solicitation issue date will be October 14, 2011 with an anticipated responds date of 30 days thereafter. Justification for Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirement. Due to the circumstances described herein, the activity requests authority to acquire the requirement listed in this document using Other Than Full and Open Competition as prescribed by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This action will result in the award of a new contract, which will be a firm-fixed price contract.
