- Description
- The USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) intends to issue a sole source award using commercial and simplified acquisition procedures for Service and Maintenance of the M101 Van X-Ray Inspection System located in Carolina, Puerto Rico. American Science and Engineering (AS&E) is the manufacturer of the Micro-Dose X-Ray Inspection System which is proprietary due to its patented technologies. As a result, AS&E is the only company fully capable to perform these services while keeping the system and component warranties valid. The proposed contract will be for one year with options for up to an additional four years. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1.
