- Concession Business Opportunity for Interpretive Boat Tours, Snorkel and Scuba Dive Tours, Water Taxi, Rental of Canoes/Kayaks/Paddle Boat(s) and Snorkel and Scuba Dive Equipment, Limited Food Service and Sale of Retail/Convenience Items, Ice and Non-Alcoholic Beverages at Biscayne National ParkThe National Park Service (NPS) will issue a prospectus for solicitation of offers for a 10 year concession contract to provide for Interpretive Boat Tours, Snorkel and Scuba Dive Tours, Water Taxi, Rental of Canoes/Kayaks/Paddle Boat(s) and Scuba Dive Equipment, Limited Food Service and Sale of Retail/Convenience Items, Ice and Non-Alcoholic Beverages at Biscayne National Park. Biscayne National Park is located is located in Homestead, Florida, within the Miami-Dade County, about 25 miles south of Miami. Gross revenues over the past 3 years have been from $311,913 to $340,256 annually.The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR 51 has determined that this is a qualified contract with regard to preference for a Preferred Offeror, and therefore, a Preferred Offeror for this contract exists. This solicitation for commercial services is fully competitive. Any offer, including that of the existing concessioner, must be received by the NPS at the address listed in the prospectus no later than January 4, 2012 by 4:00 p.m. in order to be evaluated and considered for an award of a concession contract. The prospectus describes the business opportunity and includes the terms and conditions under which the NPS will award the concession contract. The prospectus is available on the NPS website at http://www.concessions.nps.gov/Prospectus.cfm, or you can receive a hard copy for $45.00. To request a copy of the prospectus, send a check for $45.00 payable to the National Park Service to Cherrie Brice at the address listed below. This amount includes an administrative charge of 40.00 to recoup the printing cost plus a $5.00 Fed Ex shipping fee for each prospectus. Please include a physical address (no post office box) and telephone number. You may also pick up a printed copy at the Superintendents Office at Park Headquarters for $40.00 (checks only).
