Description
Please note: This is a DRAFT Solicitation for the Air Force Bearing Program. Please note: This is a DRAFT Performance Work Statement (PWS) for the Air Force Bearing Program. Air Force Bearing Program Request for Information (RFI). Please submit your responses no later than 12:00 PM MST 11 October 2011. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES. The United States Air Force (USAF) intends to increase the use of refurbished bearings, as opposed to procure all new aerospace bearing, to meet weapons systems supply demands. The USAF has made the strategic decision to pursue the Public capability for Level I-IV aerospace bearing inspection and refurbishment and associated engineering. Further, the strategic decision is to establish a single process and standard of quality, for inspecting, repairing, and refurbishing all USAF Aerospace bearings. The capability will initially be established at Ogden and Oklahoma City Air Logistics Centers. The objectives of the initiative are as follows: expand the business base of aerospace bearing refurbishment within public-private partnerships; expand the pool of potentially reparable defense aerospace bearings, including other service and federal agency systems; improve item level cost, quality and/or schedule performance through aerospace bearing refurbishment; reduce Air Force total ownership cost through aerospace bearing refurbishment.
