Description
Request for Information Details The US Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Global Borders College (GBC) seeks to pursue memoranda of agreement/understanding (MOA/MOU) with various colleges, universities, and other academic institutions wherein there is no cost to supporting the goals of both entities. These partnerships will enable collaborative curriculum research, development, and delivery, as well as joint-organizational workshops, seminars, and technology sharing. The GBC educates CBP leaders in the art of strategic thinking, planning, and management, building a single leadership culture that is professional, ethical, and enterprise-oriented. By offering curricula with a clearly defined continuum of content appropriate for new supervisors through executives, the GBC intends to become a recognized center for strategic leadership education and doctrine regarding issues that affect border security and trade facilitation. The MOA/MOU facilitates access to diverse subject matter expertise for universal concepts to include strategic thinking, border security, trade optimization, and other global strategies. The GBC also seeks to evaluate its present and future courses to maximize the opportunity for CBP leaders to earn college credits, promoting personal and professional development through degree completion. Potential partners should respond to this request for information (RFI) regarding how their institution can: •· Assess credit value of GBC curricula, CBP basic academies, and experiential learning; •· Coordinate with GBC on leadership development courses; •· Streamline the enrollment process for CBP employees; •· Provide educational programs that support the CBP Mission http://cbp.gov/ ; •· Provide distance learning capabilities that enable geographically dispersed agency personnel to achieve academic excellence; and •· Provide a list of other partnership benefits to CBP and the GBC. All perspective partner institutions must be accredited through a certifying organization recognized by the US Department of Education. Please note, the Secretary of Education's recognition of accrediting agencies is limited by statute to accreditation activities within the United States. Although many recognized agencies carry out accrediting activities outside the United States, these actions are not within the legal authority of the Department of Education to recognize, are not reviewed by the Department, and the Department does not exercise any oversight over them. The GBC will assess all responses to this RFI, and contact the best qualified with requirements within a request for proposal. All information included in responses to the RFI is confidential and only for the recipient knowledge. No information included in this document or in discussions connected to it may be disclosed to any other party. Please see the attached document which is the FULL RFI description including information requested, information requested, and how to respond. Any questions concerning this RFI or the potential requirement, please contact: George Bressler, PhD Partnerships, Leadership Development, and Distance Learning School of Advanced Border Studies george.bressler@dhs.gov
