Description
Voice-In-Beacon INDUSTRY DAY ANNOUNCEMENT The Voice-In-Beacon (ViB) team will be offering an Industry Day conference on 29 Sep 11 at 2300 D Street, Bldg 32, Conference Room 119, Wright Patterson AFB, OH. The purpose of this meeting is to communicate with industry the status of the Voice-In-Beacon acquisition strategy, program plan, and performance requirements. Additionally, we seek contractor feedback on the following: 1. Acquisition strategy 2. Program plan 3. Estimated cost (Development + Production) 4. Proposed schedules 5. Performance/technical requirements The Voice-In-Beacon (ViB) program's goal is to ensure that USAF Aircrew members have the best operational 406MHz Personnel Locator Beacon (PLB) and two-way voice capability. The ViB SPO would like to hear from Industry on any possible solutions to provide the 406MHz PLB and two-way voice capability. These solutions may include, but are not limited to: a modification of the current URT-44 with a two-way voice capability, creating a new piece of equipment with 406MHz PLB, two-way voice, and/or SATCOM voice capability, or using the URT-44 in conjunction with another capability (i.e., cell phone, SATCOM phone, etc.). The Government briefing charts and sanitized questions/answers from one-on-one sessions will be made available on FEDBIZOPS approximately two weeks after the Industry Day. Those contractors interested in participating should plan to attend the 0800-1000 briefings on 29 Sep 11. Due to room size constraints, each company division is restricted to five representatives. Following the briefings, each company will be allocated up to one (1) hour of side session with the government team to provide input in the areas identified above. If your company chooses to attend the Industry Day Conference, please e-mail your request to Lt Ryan Coughlan at ryan.coughlan@wpafb.af.mil. Also indicate if you wish to participate in a one-on-one session. Scheduling will be on a first come first serve basis. Confirmation of a scheduled meeting time will be provided by e-mail. If you choose to have a side session and wish to present a power point presentation please bring your unclassified presentation on appropriately marked CD ROM/DVDs and give it to the government contracting official. The 29 Sep 11 side session times available are as follows: A. 1015 - 1115 B. 1200 - 1300 C. 1315 - 1415 D. 1430 - 1530 E. 1545 - 1645 F. 1700 - 1800 If there is more interest in one-hour sessions than provided by those listed above, the Govt will expand the opportunities of one-on-one visits to 30 Sep. Point of contact for this program is: Lt. Ryan Coughlan, Tel: 937-656-6514 ASC/WNUV, Bldg 12, 1981 Monohan Way, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH 45433 Send email to ryan.coughlan@wpafb.af.mil Briefing charts from the conference will be made available on FEDBIZOPS after the conference. This is not a Request for Proposal. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this announcement. Submitting capabilities and concepts in response to this announcement is voluntary, and participants shall not be compensated. This is to be considered an initial step in establishing industry understanding of the Voice-In-Beacon program and to allow the government team to determine market understanding and capability to integrate and complete the program.
