Description
This announcement to determine if sources exist that meet the Naval Air Systems Command requirement for the development and potential prototype build of a replacement main rotor blade (MRB) integrity monitoring system. This system may replace the current CH/MH-53E MRB integrity monitoring system. The following are minimum requirements that shall be included in any capability statement submitted in response to this announcement: - Provide an immediate in-cockpit warning of loss of MRB integrity whenever the helicopter's rotor head is turning; - Provide a visual indication of blade integrity visible from the ground when the blades are static, i.e. rotor head not turning; - System must be fully functional in shipboard EMI environment; - System must be highly reliable; - Must contain some type of system self test that alerts the cockpit crew when the system is not fully functional; - Must not cause false indications; - Must not impact other aircraft systems or any systems on other adjacent aircraft in flight or on the flight line or flight deck; and - Must not contain any hazardous or radioactive materials. The successful vendor may be required to manufacture no less than four (4) production representative prototypes of the system for testing and to provide a complete technical data package which includes drawings of manufactured parts, source vendor part numbers for items procured, as well as detailed installation and operating instructions. Interested sources shall provide their capability statement detailing their ability to meet the above minimal requirements. No questions or inquires will be entertained at this time. Submissions shall be postmarked no later than 4:00 EST, 45 days from the posting date of this announcement and addressed to the Naval Air Systems Command, Attn: Linda A. Hill, Contract Specialist, 47123 Buse Road, Building 2272, Suite 155, Patuxent River, Maryland 20670
