- Description
- The requirement is for the support of hull corrosion control, cathodic protection design and active shaft grounding systems (ASGS) equipment design. This action is required to support NRL Science and Technology programs related to technology insertion for the USS VIRGINIA Class, SSN 774 (Flight 4) and for the new OHIO Replacement (OR) Submarine design program. This is a sole source procurement in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 (b)(2) Only One Responsible Source with award intended to General Dynamics Corporation, Electric Boat Division. General Dynamics Corporation Electric Boat Division is the Lead Design Yard for the design of the Navy submarine USS Virginia class and for the new OHIO Replacement. They have the technical cognizant over ship design, drawings, and documentation. As the owner of this information and platform, access to required information is limited due to intellectual property restrictions which will have a direct impact on the execution of this requirement.
