- Intent to Sole Source Contract Award This notice is for informational purposes only. The Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to award a sole source contract for fire protection for the William S Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital, 2500 Overlook Terrace Madison, WI 53705 under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy. Technical Scope: The Contractor is responsible for all supplies and services required to provide to furnish the necessary firefighters and equipment to answer and respond to all calls from the VA for fire protection, twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week. The fire protection to be furnished under this contract shall apply to all buildings occupied and operated by VA as well as all equipment and materials located therein. The first alarm response from time of notification shall be a maximum of six (6) minutes, and shall consist of at least the following equipment and staffing levels: Two (2) engine companies, two (2) aerial or ladder trucks, one (1) ambulance, and one (1) Commander's car. Period of Performance: October 1, 2011 - September 30, 2016 with 4 option years This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitations documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored. However, if a firm believes it can meet the requirements it must furnish information about its products and services, as well as references from other customers who are using these products and service, to the Contracting Officer within five (5) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation
