- The Library of Congress has awarded a sole source contract to University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB) for the National Jukebox Database Development Project. This requirement is for the Library Services Division, 101 Independence Ave., SE, Washington, DC 20540. The proposed contract action is for services in which the Government has solicited and negotiated with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a Request for Quote. No solicitation will be issued as a result of this notice. Additionally, no award will be made on the basis of quotes or offers received in response to this notice. The Library of Congress National Jukebox project requires to provide digitization and imaging of 6,000 78rpm disc sound recordings from the UCSB collection for use on the Library's National Jukebox website. UCSB has an outstanding audio digitization program. Their website of cylinder recordings is the largest and most comprehensive public website for cylinder recordings, and all of the digitization for the site was done internally by their highly experienced engineering staff. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities to meet this requirement by 10am EST, 16 September 2011.
