- NORTHLANDS JOB CORPS ACADEMY 100A Macdonough Drive, Vergennes, VT 05491 GYM BOILER AND MECHANICAL REPAIRS AND REPLACEMENT - SCOPE OF WORK Due to the April flood, the boiler room and mechanical room for the gym were flooded with up to 4.5 feet of water, damaging all electrical control equipment and devices. This included the motor and controls for the Weil-McClain 800,000 BTU oil fired boiler, the seals, condensate pumps, circulating pumps, pump controls, associated electrical panels and wiring, as well as pipe insulation. We are looking for quotes to regasket and to replace all compromised equipment in the boiler room and mechanical room to reestablish a fully functional heating system that is sized as closely as possible to meet, (not exceed) the needs of the building. The building is 10,840 square foot and includes a basketball court on the first floor and exercise room, weight rooms, locker rooms, and other function rooms in the basement. We require energy efficient equipment and efficiency specs are to be included in the bid. Bids are to include the cost to convert the boiler to a gas fired system. An alternate bid item will cover the cost of converting to programmable heating controls throughout the building. Completion of the work needs to be completed for the upcoming heating season if possible. The bid will be awarded based upon price, operating efficiencies of the proposed system, timing of completion and other factors. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 4PM at Northlands Job Corps Academy in the Administrative building conference room on the second level of the building. Bids are due Tuesday September 27, 2011 by 5PM at the office of the Administrative Manager on the third level of the same building.
