- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for Precision Manufactured Connector Set and FerrulesFor Optical Fiber Terminations to include the following:1. 35 qty - Ferr AVIM SS 4ch 400/440 - AVIM 4 channel ferrule SS (ANSI 416) drilled tofit 400/440um fiber2. 50 qty - Ferr AVIM SS 2 ch 200/200 - AVIM 2 channel ferrule SS (ANSI 416) drilled tofit 100/120um fiber3. 50 qty - Ferr AVIM SS 2ch 100/120 - AVIM 2 channel ferrule SS (ANSI 416) drilled tofit 100/120um fiber4. 12 qty - ConSet AVIM MM PM SS w/o ferrule 2.1 Boot - AVIM PC Multimode PM SS (withoutferrule) 2.1mm black hytrel bootNASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Diamond USA pursuant to FAR 13.106, for theacquisition of supplies or services detrmined to be reasonably available from only onesource.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interestedorganizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort inwriting to the identified point of contact not later than 3:00 p.m. local time on Sept23, 2011. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose ofdetermining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.Adetermination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
