- Description
- The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH), Division of Laboratory Science, intends to award a sole source contract to Gilson, Inc., P.O. Box 620027, Middleton, WI 53562 for the purchase of a Instrument, Solid Phase Extraction, Mdl: GX-274 ASPEC. The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1) in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1- only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirement. The NAICS code for this procurement is 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing. The date of delivery for this procurement is 30-60 days after award of contract.The purpose of this procurement is for Gilson, Inc. to provide an instrument for measuring aromatic amines for FDA50 project. The method allows automated collection of the eluant from a first SPE cleanup for a subsequent second SPE cleanup.Gilson, Inc. is the only responsible source capable of meeting all of the Government's requirement. Threee other vendors in the market have been consulted and cannot provide the request by this method. None of these vendors offered a instrument compatible with our existing system. As a result of this synopsis, no competitive solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps. We will issue only one solicitation to the Gilson, Inc. However, all responsible sources that believe they can meet these requirements may submit their capabilities/qualifications to provide the services to Richard Jenkins via email ONLY at RJenkins@cdc.gov with the solicitation number: 2011-Q-14171 referenced in the subject line NO LATER THAN September 27, 2011. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action will be based on responses to this notice and are solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
