Description
NSA approved for 2800 Oersted tape and 5000 Oersted (L) and (P) hard disk drives. Must meet NSA-CSS- EPL-9012A Listed Degausser shall be a "Drawer Type Degausser" and must meet DoD specifications for purging all classified/sensitive information from longitudinal (L) and perpendicular (P) recorded hard disk media up to 5000 Oersteds. Degausser must be listed in the National Security Agency (NSA) Evaluated Products List-Degausser (EPL-DEGAUSSER) as meeting these requirements. Degausser shall have TWO magnets, producing TWO different magnetic fields. Degausser shall not need power. The decision to use a degausser that does not use power is to ensure that we have destruction capability in the event of a power outage due to a natural or physical disaster. Degausser shall have 6 years, parts and labor on site service. Degausser shall combine a set of two unique and powerful magnets producing two magnetic fields: one in a horizontal direction and one in a vertical direction, in order to provide the best position to erase future high density, perpendicular hard drives. Degausser shall be a permanent magnet design, using a simple hand crank and a cycle time of four (4) seconds. Degausser shall accept media up to 1.65" x 5.06" x 7.125". Degausser shall accept hard disk media up to 1.65 inches high by 5.06 inches wide by 7.125 inches deep including floppy disks, zip disks, jazz disks, and hard disk drives without removing the disk platters. No special adapters required. Degausser shall have a footprint no greater than: 25.8 inches x 49.5 inches x 16.7 inches.
