Description

Intent to Sole Source a Sapphire Laser The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 1 Network Contracting Activity intends to negotiate a sole source procurement, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, with the Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM), 1500 King Street, Ste 303, Alexandria, VA 22314-2730 The NAICS code is 813920 and the size standard is 34.5 M. This notice of intent is NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Interested parties that can provide similar services or equal product must submit their technical specifications of product services, past performance information, price and delivery time, detailing how their services meet VA requirements to the contract specialist via e-mail. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All responses must be received NLT August 2nd, 2011 @ 1:00PM/EST USA. E-mail: James.Kneeland@VA.Gov Statement of Work: Following is the scope of work for symposia planning to be completed by Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM), 1500 King Street, Ste 303, Alexandria, VA 22314 on behalf of the Health Services Research and Development Service (HSR&D), Quality Enhancement Research Initiative (QUERI) and Center for Information Dissemination and Education Resources (CIDER). A. GENERAL INFORMATION 1.Title of Project: SGIM symposia development. 2.Scope of Work: The contractor shall provide the resources and services necessary to plan and implement three symposiums to disseminate VA QUERI findings and information broadly throughout SGIM, and the greater healthcare community. 3.Performance Period: The contractor shall complete the work required under this SOW no later than 150 days past award, unless otherwise directed by the Contracting Officer. 4.Managing Agency: The VA HSR&D Center for Information Dissemination and Education Resources (CIDER) is the managing organization with the Department of Veterans Affairs for this project. The Director, HSR&D CIDER shall be the contractor's principal point of contact regarding the execution of the contract's requirements. Statutory Authority: FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Unique Qualifications: SGIM runs symposiums on a regular schedule. It is the VAs intent to participate in these symposiums.
