- The US Army Contracting Command-Picatinny (ACC-Picatinny), Picatinny Arsenal, N.J. 07806-5000 on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager for Combat Ammunition Systems intends to solicit, negotiate, and award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract for the limited Urgent Materiel Release (UMR) of the PrecisionGuidance Kit (PGK) XM1156 on a sole source basis to Alliant Techsystems, Inc. (ATK), Advanced Weapons, 4700 Nathan Lane, Plymouth, MN 55442. The anticipated effort is to manufacture, inspect, test and deliver up to1,614 PGKs in accordance with U.S. Army requirements to support the current warfight. This effort will include First Article Acceptance Testing (FAAT). The initial delivery of the PGK is expected in 3QFY12. This acquisition is being conducted using Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized by FAR 6.302-1, avoidance of duplication of cost and unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agencys requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirements. Any information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract lies solely within the discretion of the Government. The anticipated award is scheduled for the end of November 2011.
