- Draft SQS This Sources Sought Amendment is for clarification of the C-130 Main Landing Gear (MLG) Ball Screw Assembly (NSN 1620 01 263 6733/Part Number 8430M4) acquisition. Due to the Air Force having only limited data rights, we feel that it is necessary to further clarify why the C-130 MLG Ball Screw Assembly has limited/highly specialized data rights associated with it. An offeror who has previous experience in the manufacture and qualification of similar ball screw items, used in Landing Gear Retraction/Extension system applications, may apply to the design control authority at OO-ALC (417 SCMS/GUEA) for a potential waiver to the attached draft Source Qualification Statement. The potential waiver may be granted if and only if the design control authority can establish the qualifications of the offeror; through the evaluation of written inputs from the offeror, from previous knowledge of the offeror's capabilities, and from previous experience on similar item acquisitions. It must also be noted that offerors may still be required to submit a prequalification article. We hope that this can help clear any confusion relating to the C-130 MLG Ball Screw Assembly.
