- Pre-solicitation Notice: LT04 Tape Drive: This proposed contract action is for IT Telecommunication Services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This requirement being sole source to North American Systems in Bloomington, MN. USDA has a requirement for HP LTO4 FC 4gb tape drive for L180/SL700 Storagetek Tape Library w/ TX 40 that must contain the following specifications: 820m tape length, 12.65 mm tape width, 6.6±0.3 μm tape thickness, 900 ppm tape dimension stability, 7.29m/s Maximum tape speed, 783m Tape length used for data: 7.00 m/s Rewind speed. 1,000,000 passes Durability and a track pitch of 11.48 μm that must contain a TX 40 tray. Information received is for the purposes of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. This is a requirement for the USDA, APHIS, MRPBS-IT section located in Riverdale, Maryland..Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 10 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action is solely within the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. No RFQ will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent. Interested parties may submit any information for consideration by the Government to michael.r.wesley@aphis.usda.gov. Please reference the solicitation number in all correspondence.
