- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District is getting ready to advertise a FFP commercial supply item solicitation for one (1) 600 lb capacity portable personnel hoist, air or electrically driven to be delivered FOB destination to the John Day Dam, located in Rufus, Oregon. The Contractor shall provide all materials, tools, equipment, and labor necessary to design, fabricate and deliver a portable guided two-man personnel hoist system meeting the ANSI A10.22 specifications, and designed to work within the geometry of the John Day main unit spiral cases, as shown on the attached sketch. The solicitation will state that the contractor shall deliver the complete system, ready for installation and testing by the government, within 18 weeks from date of award. A site visit will be held on 19 September 2011 for potential interested offerors to investigate field conditions, and verify dimensions to ensure the design will work within the existing geometry of the generator floor openings. SITE VISIT INFORMATION: (a) Offerors or quoters are urged and expected to inspect the site where the work will be performed. (b) An organized site visit has been scheduled for: 19 September 2011: 12:00PM Pacific Time. Location: USACE, John Day Lock Dam I-84 Exit 109 Rufus, OR 97050 Contractors will enter at the south shore entrance gate and will be escorted in to the meeting area. HARD HATS AND STEEL TOED SHOES ARE REQUIRED. In order to participate in the site visit you must contact Kathryn A. Newhouse via email at Kathryn.A.Newhouse@usace.army.mil or via fax at 503-808-4605 No Later Than 16 September by 3:00 Pacific Time, providing the following information: (1) Names of people who will be attending the site visit, (2) The Company they work for: Title, Phone, and Email Address, (3) Date and place of birth of each person to be on site, (3) and any other information she may need for security purposes. Anyone not on the approved list prior to the start time of the site visit will not be allowed through the security gate The solicitation will be available on or around 13 September 2011. This is a 100% total small business set-aside procurement. The NAICS code for this requirement is 333923. The size standard is 500 employees. The FSC Code is 3950.
