- Description
- A sole-source firm-fixed price contract for one year to Harris Corporation, Government communications Systems Division, Melbourne FL for the full rate production and support of the Fibre Channel Network Switch (FCNS) system. This acquisition was pursued on a sole source basis under authority 10 USC 2304( c ) (1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source and not other supplies for services will satisfy agency requirements. Harris Corporation is the designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the FCNS as such is the only firm with the requisite knowledge, experience an technical stat to successfully deliver the FCNS system to meet the requirements of the F/A-18E/F, E/A-18G and E-2D production aircraft delivery schedule.
