Description

The Augusta VA Medical Center, Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center intends to negotiate sole source procurement with ASCO Power Technologies, L.P., 50 Hanover Rd., Florham Park, NJ 07932-1503. The proposed contract action is for the purchase of a maintenance contract for the ASCO Automatic Transfer Switches, for base plus 4 option periods. The contractor shall provide full service maintenance to include furnish all necessary labor, transportation, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, incidentally engineering, and management to perform testing, scheduled maintenance, repair, component replacement and emergency services as required to maintain the transfer switches and generator controls in accordance with the manufacture ™s recommendation and accepted industry standards. Due to ASCO Power Technology, L.P. having proprietary rights of the software package used with the generator controls that are also integrated in the system to include the transfer switches, another vendor would not have access to the software technical data.. Justification for this sole source procurement is in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(A)and(B), only one responsible source. This is not a request for quotes. No solicitation documents will be issued. Firms that believe they can meet the VA's requirements must submit proof to the Contracting Officer no later than September 13, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. local time. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
