- The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Technology Acquisition Center (TAC), located at 260 Industrial Way West, Eatontown, NJ 07724 intends to enter into a contract on the basis of other than full and open competition for support services for wide area network (WAN) capacity planning. The TAC intends to award a sole source, one (1) year, firm-fixed-price contract to Nelson Enterprise Technology Services, LLC (NETS), 10860 Caraway Circle, Manassas, VA 20109, a certified service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB) pursuant to authority 38 U.S.C. 8127(c), Veterans First Contracting Program and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-5, Authorized or required by statute. The proposed solicitation number for this effort is VA118-11-RP-0694. The purpose of this proposed action is to provide support services for an enterprise wide technical and cost analysis of the VA communications network and shall provide recommendations, capacity planning, service level agreements, service and operations plans, and the architecture designs for the planning and implementation of a multi-phased all-optical backbone network. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 541618. The estimated date of award for this action is September 28, 2011. This is a notice of intent, not a request for proposals.
