Description
DRAWINGS PHOTOGRAPHS This amendment is to make changes to the statement of work, add drawings/photographs and address questions/answers and extend the response date to September 16, 2011: 1) Paragraph 3.1, Page 6: "contract drawing" should be changed to contract drawings". The paragraph should read as follows: 1. APPLICABILITY The following is a general description of the work required and shall not be construed as a complete listing of all work required to complete this project in a satisfactory manner in accordance with the contract drawings, noted references, and other sections of this Statement of Work (SOW). 2) Paragraph 3.8.A, Page 7: The grammar needs to be corrected. The paragraph should read as follows: A. Utilities: Water and electricity for construction purposes are available at the work site. 3) Paragraph 3.8.B, Page 7: The location of toilet facilities vary depending on the building in which the work is being conducted. Each of the specifications which were originally forwarded detail the toilet facilities in each building. 4) Paragraph 3.11.A, Page 8: The word "sued" should be changed to "used". The paragraph should read as follows: A. The Contractor shall not cause or permit any hazardous material to be brought upon, kept or used in or about the premises by its agents, employees, or subcontractors without the prior consent of the COR. Hazardous materials that are necessary to the performance of this contract shall be used, kept and stored in a manner that complies with all laws regulating any such hazardous material brought upon, used or kept at this site. The Contractor shall provide the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) to the COR for any hazardous materials used in the performance of this contract. 5) Paragraph 3.13.A, Page 8: The noted reference, ANSI A250.8-1998 (SDI 100), does not apply to all of the doors that are being replaced. The Building 9 and Building 2 entrance doors are aluminum so this reference will not apply to these locations. Questions/Answers: 1. Since this still in the presolicitation phase, and do you anticipate posting more information on the website? Answer: In addition to the drawings previously forwarded to you, I have provided the attachments which provide photographs of all the existing doors and the reference drawings for the existing doors. It should be noted that the information provided in the reference drawings are not entirely accurate in that they do not necessarily depict the existing conditions. 2. NFPA code limits the size of glazing that is placed within a door that is rated. When a glass size is asked for that is too big should we handle the conflict through the submittal approval process? Answer: If the size of glazing specified exceeds the NFPA code limits the Contractor should exercise the maximum size allowable per the NFPA code while providing the most efficient sight lines. The proposed size and configuration of the glazing shall be submitted to the Government for approval prior to fabrication/installation via the submittal/approval process. The Contractor shall cite the NFPA code and section used to determine the proposed size and configuration of the glazing. 3. NFPA limits use of wire glass that was formerly used to glaze fire doors. Should we address any conflicts through the submittal approval process? Answer: The Contractor shall propose the glazing for fire doors which complies with the NFPA codes to the Government for approval prior to fabrication via the submittal/approval process. The Contractor shall cite the NFPA code and section used to determine the proposed glazing.
