- 2D Tomography System: The solicitation number is FA8601-11-T-0129. The NAICS Code is 334517. The size standard is 500 employees. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii). This synopsis is for informational purposes only. The proposed source is Spectral Energies, LLC; Dayton, Ohio 45431. The requirement specifications are as follows: The requested system includes the construction of a 2D grid system for tomographic reconstruction of the flow field of a combustor using 18 diode laser sensors. The sensor system will make temperature and H2O concentration measurements at 81 grid points. A tomographic reconstruction software will be provided. The 2-D grid system will be constructed by arranging the 18 Time Division Multiplexor sensors covering the flow field. The measurements will be performed at a rate of 30 kHz so temporal evolution of the 2-D temperature-field can be captured on a real-time basis. This hyper spectral sensor system along with the tomographic reconstruction model will allow capturing the dominant spatial and temporal instability modes in the combustors along with their interaction and spatio-temporal evolution providing both a research capability as well as a real-time diagnostic for deployed systems. The vendor is responsible for shipment, installation and calibration of one unit to AFIT/ENY (Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, any quotation received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotations should be e-mailed to robert.neeb@wpafb.af.mil no later than 4:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time, 14 Sept 2011. Only proposals received by this date will be considered.
