Description
Solicitation DISA/DITCO intends to issue a brand name purchase order for the acquisition of ThinPrint Licenses & 1 year of Support in accordance with FAR 6.305(c). The licenses & support being maintained is proprietary and protected by copyright laws. No third party maintenance is authorized. Period of performance is date of award through 31 May 2012. Companies who can provide the above listed licenses & support must complete the attached solicitation, HC1028-11-T-0398, and return it via email to nicole.schomaker@disa.mil by 1:00 P.M. (Eastern Time) on 12 September 2011. The resultant contract will be a firm fixed price purchase order. The NAICS code is 511210 for this procurement. The justification detailing the government's essential need for ThinPrint Licenses & 1 year of Support is listed below. This purchase is to accommodate Supply Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) 336. Doing further analysis of this ECP, Navy ERP decided to purchase software instead of customize code. Navy ERP has selected ThinPrint software to send encrypted print jobs via TCP/IP over the internet to traverse from NMCI to non-NMCI networks. The current design of the ThinPrint Software allows only one root certificate to be specified for encryption. Navy ERP Windows servers typically support multiple network interfaces; one for backups, one for dedicated high performance server to server traffic, and one for "general use". When Navy ERP configures the client for a specific port to listen on, we bind that listener to a specific network interface (in this case "general use"). This capability allows Navy ERP to stay within current network boundaries rules currently enforced throughout (DoD) without waivers requesting additional ports.
