- Description
- NASA/LaRC has a requirement for (15) Gardon heat flux gages, (40) coaxial surfacethermocouple probes, and (4) Gardon gage radiometers. NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from Medtherm Corp, as the proposed instrumentsuite that was selected has to mirror a previous Medtherm instrument suite chosen for asimilar panel test. The current design takes advantage of extensive analytical efforts tocharacterize Medtherm instrument performance when subjected to the adverse environmentproduced by a solid rocket motor. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon 09/16/2011. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purposeof determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Adetermination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
