- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract on a sole source basis to BAE Systems Electronics, Intelligence and Support Electronic Solutions,(hereafter referred to as BAE Systems), in Nashua, N.H., for the procurement of Full Rate Production (FRP) lots 2 through 6 for the AN/ALE-55 Fiber Optic Towed Decoys (FOTDs) and Electronic Frequency Converters (EFCs) systems for the Integrated Defensive Electronic Countermeasures (IDECM) Radio Frequency Countermeasure (RFCM) Program. The contract will consist of a base year with four options. The anticipated quantities are as follows: FRP2: Qty 46 Option FRP3: Qty 74 Option FRP4: Qty 63 Option FRP5: Qty 39 Option FRP6: Qty 19 BAE Systems is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer, repairer and supporter of the ALE-55 Fiber Optic Tow Decoy (FOTD) and Electronic Frequency Converter (EFC) systems, and is the only qualified source with the comprehensive knowledge of the associated design requirements and tradeoffs that can perform the requirements for the ALE-55 FOTD and EFC, while maintaining commonality and schedule. This is not a commercial buy and therefore the Government does not intend to use the provisions of FAR Part 12 for this acquisition. This synopsis is published for informational purposes only.
