Description
DESCRIPTION: The Product Manager, Non-Standard Ammunition, U.S. Army Contracting Command - Rock Island and Joint Munitions Command Security Assistance Directorate will be conducting a Non-Standard Ammunition Industry Day 19-20 October 2011 at the Hilton Garden Inn, Rockaway, NJ. Industry Day will start at 0900 EST on 19 October 2011, with on-site registration beginning at 0800 EST. The definition of Non-Standard Ammunition (NSA) for the purposes of this industry day is ammunition that has not been safety tested and type classified for U.S. Army use and cannot be procured through the Army supply system. The NSA items are primarily for use in non-U.S. weapon systems. The overarching intent of the Industry Day is to initially brief the planned strategy for award of a five year, multiple-award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) for the procurement of NSA and delivery to OCONUS locations around the world in order to support the U.S. Government's Foreign Military Sales mission in accordance with all applicable U.S. and foreign regulations for the transit of ammunition. This announcement should not be construed as a Request for Proposal or a commitment by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this Industry Day. Should the U.S. Government have a future requirement to procure NSA, a formal announcement will be published on the Federal Business Opportunities website. The first day of Industry Day (19 October 2011) will include briefings and presentations on the following: (1) overview of NSA; (2) proposed strategy for the procurement of NSA; and (3) NSA functional areas (e.g. Technical Data, Safety, Security, etc.). Performance Specifications will be posted on the website designated below at a later date. Your feedback on the Performance Specifications during Industry Day is desired. The latter portion of the first day and the entire second day (20 October 2011) will be utilized to conduct one-on-one meetings with individuals/companies, at the individual request. One-on-one meetings will be limited to 30 minutes each. Registration for one-on-one meetings can be completed prior to or during Industry Day; however, the number of meetings will be limited and will be scheduled on a first-come first-serve basis. Information discussed during the meetings may be posted to the website. Advanced registration for Industry Day is required and must be received by the U.S. Army Contracting Command - Rock Island Point of Contact listed below no later than 1600 13 October 2011. Each company may register up to four (4) personnel to attend Industry Day on the attached Registration Form. Additionally, foreign attendees shall submit formal request for visit notification through their embassy. The passport number for foreign attendees shall also be provided to the POC. Please submit completed Registration Form and any one-on-one meeting requests to Rebecca Meeke, rebecca.l.meeke.civ@mail.mil, 309 782-0211. Questions will be accepted prior to Industry Day. Attendees will also have the opportunity to submit questions during Industry Day. All questions will be addressed during the Industry Day and posted on the Rock Island Contracting Center Automated Acquisition Information System (AAIS) website (link below). All questions submitted prior to Industry Day must be e-mailed to Ms. Kim M. Jones, kim.m.jones1.civ@mail.mil, with the following subject line "Question - NSA October Industry Day". Questions submitted via facsimile or telephone will not be accepted. A website for this Industry Day is being established at http://www.aschq.army.mil/ac/aaisdus/NonStandardAmmunition.aspx. Please review periodically for updated information on the Industry Day if available.
