- Description
- The General Services Administration has need for a freight elevator modernization at the Federal Office Building & U.S. Courthouse in Duluth, MN. The contractor shall provide freight elevator modernization services to ensure the safety of the building elevator operations and maintain the building assets. The existing freight elevator will be upgraded with new microprocessor controls, new tank unit, new jack, new cab, new fixtures and bring the elevator into the latest code compliance parameters. The contractor shall provide full elevator construction in compliance with the ASME safety code requirements, the manufacturer's recommendations, the Elevator Industry Field Employees Safety Handbook, National Electrical Code, and all the other applicable laws, regulations, rules, ordinances, codes etc. The Government is contracting for the complete performance of each task identified in the specifications, and it is the objective of the Government to obtain complete and satisfactory performance in accordance with the terms and specifications and requirements of the awarded contract. This procurement will be open to all business concerns. Small business concerns, including HUBZone, veteran-owned, service-disabled veteran-owned, disadvantaged and women-owned businesses are encouraged to submit proposals. At this time funding is not available for this project. If and when funding becomes available, the government will award a firm fixed price contract for the aforementioned services. Performance based contracting does not apply to this procurement as this acquisition is for construction services. The estimated project magnitude is between $250,000 and $500,000. The North American Industry Classification System (NAIC) code is 238990 with a Small Business Administration size standard of $14.0 million. It is anticipated the solicitation will be issued on or around September 6, 2011. The solicitation and any subsequent documents related to this procurement will be available via the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website (www.fbo.gov). FedBizOpps is a secure website designed to safeguard sensitive but unclassified (SBU) acquisition information. Demonstration videos and assistance with using FedBizOpps is available through the website. It is fully integrated with other electronic government initiatives such as Central Contract Registration (CCR), and is available for use by all Federal agencies. No hard copies of the solicitation or related documents will be mailed. Contractors are responsible for downloading their own copies of this solicitation, amendments, and other documents related to this solicitation. The due date and time for the receipt of proposals will be set at the time the full solicitation is posted. All government contractors must be registered in CCR prior to receiving an award, as of October 1, 2003. You may access CCR at www.bpn.gov. In addition, as of January 1, 2005, all vendors are required to use the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) in federal solicitations as a part of the proposal submission process per the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
