- This Pre-Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District to inform interested/potential contractors of the District's imminent issue of an Invitation for Bids to obtain construction services for the "TOWN OF GRIFFITH SUBSYSTEM "N" - STORM SEWER IMPROVEMENTS". PROJECT INFORMATION: Under the contract set, the Contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary labor, transportation, materials, and equipment in the installation of new storm sewers (mostly in existing alleys), storm manholes and laterals from the main line to the property lines for the connection of sump pumps that currently tie-in to the sanitary sewer system. Other work will include minor utility relocation and restoration of areas disturbed within the work area/right-of-way as required for the proposed work. ACQUISITION INFORMATION: Competition for this acquisition is RESTRICTED to ELIGIBLE SMALL BUSINESS FIRMS. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System Code 237110, which applies a small business size standard in dollars of $33.5M. The magnitude of cost for this construction project is estimated between $5,000,000 Million and $10,000,000 Million. The Invitation for Bids (IFB) Package will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY. The project specification files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files and can be viewed navigated or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Interested Bidders can download the IFB Package from the Internet Site http://www. Fbo.gov. The IFB will be available at the above-mentioned Internet site on 15 August 2011. The due date for bids will be on 15 September 2011 at 4:00 pm CDT (IN THE CASE OF A DISCREPANCY BETWEEN THE BID OPENING DATE AND TIME CONTAINED IN THIS FBO NOTICE AND THAT STATED WITHIN THE IFB SOLICITATION DOCUMENT, THE SOLICITATION DOCUMENT GOVERNS). In order for contractors to be awarded contracts with the Department of Defense, the contractor must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR); Contractors can access the CCR for free at http//www.ccr.gov.
