- USDA, Natural Resources Conservation Service in Michigan is planning to repair a wetland restoration located in Leelanau County, Michigan. Major items of work are as follows: Seeding and Mulching (0.5 acres); Erosion Control Blanket (221 square yards); Mobilization and Demobilization (lump sum); Rock (70.4 tons); and Salvaging and Spreading Topsoil (1200 square yards). The duration of the contract is approximately 30 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Any contract resulting from this solicitation will be a firm fixed price contract. The North American Industry Classification for this acquisition is 237990 and the size standard is $33.5 million. This solicitation is issued as a Small Business Set-Aside. The magnitude of proposed construction is less than $25,000. The solicitation package along with the specifications and drawings will be issued as an Invitation for Bid and will be available for downloading from the Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fbo.gov on or around July 11, 2011. A site visit will be held on July 19, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. (EDT) at the Leelanau Conservation District office, 112 West Philip Street, Lake Leelanau, MI 49653. The bid opening will be held at the same location on August 9, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. (EDT). A Notice to Proceed is expected to be issued on or about August 22, 2011 with construction to begin within 10 days of issuance. Liquidated damages will be assessed at $750.00 per day. The Davis-Bacon Act Wage Determination No. MI100147 dated July 1, 2011 applies. Notification of any changes to this solicitation (amendments) shall be made only on the internet. It is therefore the contractor's responsibility to check the above listed web address daily for any posted changes to this solicitation.
