Description
The Department of Justice (DOJ) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with the Harris Corporation for maintenance of an existing Land Mobile Radio (LMR) system in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The LMR system is a Harris Corporation, P25 compliant, trunked system that provides tactical wireless communications for law enforcement and first responders located in the National Capital Region (NCR). The proposed contract will provide continued warranty coverage, remote system monitoring (24 hours per day, seven days per week), technical support, maintenance, and on-site repair of the NCR LMR system. Response times for repairs range from two (2) hours for high severity items to next business day for low severity items. Harris Corporation is the sole provider of all Harris P25 LMR proprietary software and hardware updates. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within fifteen days after the date this notice is published will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
