- The 105th Airlift Wing intends to issue a sole-source procurement action to GENTEX Corporation, Rancho Cucamonga, CA for the procurement of the following items: 220 each - Part Number GW1607-01 - High Impedance Microphones for the MBU-20/P Aircrew Mask. The authority cited is 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy the Requirement. The reason for this determination is that this model number is manufactured solely by GENTEX and is the only company capable of providing High Impedance Microphones to fit the MBU-20/P Aircrew masks that are already in use. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source procurement action and is not a request for competitive proposals. Firms who want to challenge the sole source must submit an interest letter that demonstrates your firm's ability to meet the requirement as described above. Interested parties must provide rationale as to why they should be considered. All interested firms must respond by Wednesday, September 14, 2011, 2:00PM EST. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
