Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This solicitation document (AG-82X9-S-11-0242) and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-15. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this acquisition is 423320 with a size standard of $16.5 million. Due to the nature of work, all bids must be received by close of business September 19, 2011. SCOPE OF WORK: ¾' Road Base for Avalanche Campgrounds BACKGROUND: The purpose of this project is to deliver 1,019 tons of stock pile ¾' road base to Avalanche Campgrounds Southeast of Carbondale. Statement of Work for the Shed: The Contractor shall furnish all supervision, material, equipment, and incidentals necessary to pickup and deliver 1,019 tons of ¾' minus, screened road base and deliver it to Avalanche Campgrounds. Location: From Redstone, CO, take State Rt. 113 north 5.2 miles to Avalanche Creek sign (may be hidden by tall grass), just past Avalanche Ranch. Turn right, fording Crystal River, onto Forest Rt. 310 (single lane with no turnouts, dirt road) and go 2.3 miles to campground. Delivery: Work will begin no earlier than September 28th, 2011 and will be completed in a timely manner. Security Requirements: There are no security requirements for this project. All access gates will be open and made available. Site Visit: A site visit will be scheduled if requested by the Contractor. Permits: No permits or permit fees will be required for this project. Vehicles: The contractor will ensure that all vehicles used for this project will be of a safe and sound condition so as not to cause damage to government property or personal property of others. All vehicles must be covered under industry standard insurance policies. The government will not be responsible for any damage that may occur to a third party by the contractor or an employee of the contractor while in the performance of this contract. All vehicles must be applicable and appropriate in nature and design in order to ensure that the work is completed in a safe manner. Drugs and Alcohol: There is to be no use of drugs or alcohol by the contractor or his/her employees while in performance of work under this contract. All designated drivers are to abstain from the consumption of alcohol 24 hours prior to commencement of work under this contract. Debris Removal: All unneeded material, rubbish, and debris will be removed and disposed of prior to completion of work. The contractor will only be responsible for those items used during the completion of this contract. Inspection: The COR will conduct inspections during the progress of the work. Defective materials and/or discrepancies in workmanship shall be corrected by the contractor at no additional cost to the government. Work Hours: Normal working hours are to be 0800 to 1700 Monday through Friday, not including holidays.
