Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners, Springfield, Missouri, intends to make a Sole Source award under FAR Part 6.302-1 to Parata Systems, LLC, 2600 Meridian Parkway, Suite 100, Durham, NC 27713 for the PacMed 400 including software and hardware accessories. The PacMed 400 Unit Dose Machine is currently located at the U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners, 1900 W. Sunshine Street, Springfield, Missouri. The unit dose system was procured on a multi-year equipment lease agreement in 2006, in order to meet Joint Commission Medication Management Standards. This was a requirement in order to successfully earn accreditation with Joint Commission in 2007 and 2010. Continuation of this lease is required. Pacmed is the only unit dosing dispensing device that has a working and supported interface with our electronic medical record system. Currently we have a moratorium on any new interfaces. Continuation of this lease agreement is vital to maintain the institutions accreditation. The procurement will be a firm-fixed priced purchase order for the anticipated period of October 1, 2011, through September 30, 2012. This acquisition is an Unrestricted, firm-fixed price, FOB destination contract. Any vendor who believes they can meet these requirements shall provide written notification to the Contracting Officer by September 15, 2011, 2 p.m. CST. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirements listed and must show competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice will solely be at the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the sole source procurement to Parata Systems, LLC. Responses maybe be faxed to (417) 837-1751 or emailed to the cbruner@bop.gov by the response date above. Faith-Based and Community Based Organizations have the right to submit offers/quotes equally with other organizations for contracts. The point of contact for all information regarding this solicitation is Christy D. Bruner, Contract Specialist at the email above.
