- Description
- The Abandoned Mine Lands (AML) program of the BLM's State Office in Lakewood, Colorado, requires a Handheld Portable X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) Analyzer to assist in conducting contaminant hazard assessments, and reconnaissance field screening of geological and environmental contaminant samples. The portable X-ray unit will be utilized by various BLM programs (AML and HazMat team members) and field offices to identify contaminants and minerals of interest; measure the chemical composition of soils, sediment and rock; optimize field sampling programs and determine extent of environmental contaminant conditions.
