- Description
- The Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk (FLCN), Contracting Department, Philadelphia Office intends to procure Cable Services for the National Naval Medical Center (NNMC), Bethesda, MD for a period of 3 months, with 3 three-month options to extend the services, if necessary. These cable services cover basic and preferred cable television services for approximately 300 active drops for two different buildings located on the Bethesda Maryland NNMC campus. It is FLCN ™s intent to issue a firm fixed price purchase order in accordance with FAR 12 and FAR 13.5. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 13.501. It is FLCN ™s intent to process this procurement on a sole source basis to Comcast of Maryland. Comcast is the only known company that can provide these services without a break in the current services being provided (to begin on 1 OCT 2011). The Government is exploring other options to get similar services in the future but is not able to clearly define its future needs at this point. Therefore, this sole source purchase order is being issued for a short term period to prevent a break in services while NNMC completes the requirement definition process for the follow-on requirement. Interested offerors may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit a capability statement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, all capability statements received by 02 SEP 2011 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
