Description
The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) Atlantic, AdvancedTechnology Branch (Code 52130) is seeking information on behalf of the Physical Security Equipment Action Group (PSEAG) and Defense Installation Access Control (DIAC) working groups for a Low-Cost Wide-Area Metal Detection Technology Solution. The intended application for this product is for access control at pedestrian gates, entry control points, visitor centers and forward operating checkpoints to detect unauthorized/hidden weapons. All information received will be treated as public knowledge; therefore, vendors should not submit proprietary information in response to this RFI. Specific information is provided in the attachment which includes: 1. Company information, including name, address, and URL. 2. A point of contact for follow-up information, and the point of contacts phone number and e-mail address. 3. Product name/system and a description (see Section 4 of RFI). 4. Responses to questions posed in the RFI (see Section 5 of RFI). 5. Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost information (see Section 4 of RFI). The submitted information will be evaluated for feasibility for possible demonstration of this capability at a future time and place. Follow-up requests for feedback should not be made through Federal Business Opportunities posting agency. Vendors may be contacted following submission for more detailed product information. Respondents are required to submit a white paper following the requirements outlined in the attached RFI by email to Allen Smith at ssc_lant_saver_program.fcm@navy.mil. Due to DoD restrictions.zip files will not be accepted. Please limit files to no larger than 15 MB. Submittals must be emailed by 5:00 PM EST 15 Sep 2011 to the email address listed above. Submittal requirements are also listed in Section 6 of the RFI. The technical point of contact is Allen Smith at; allen.smith@navy.mil, telephone contact (843) 218-4409, or ssc_lant_saver_program.fcm@navy.mil. This RFI is for information gathering and planning purposes only, and should not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or solicitation of an offer. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited. Questions regarding this RFI shall be submitted in writing by e-mail, to the SPAWAR Contracting Officer, Theodore Rivera at theodore.rivera@navy.mil. Verbal questions will NOT be accepted. The Government does not guarantee that questions will be answered. Interested parties are invited to subscribe to the SPAWAR E-commerce website to ensure they receive any updates connected with this RFI.
