- Description
- Western Area Power Administration has a requirement for a contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation and other resources to complete this project. The principal components of the work involve the construction of a new high voltage 115-kV electrical substation addition near Circle, Montana. Work includes sitework, concrete foundations, fencing, grounding and conduit systems, furnishing and installing transmission line wood pole structures for the approach spans, furnishing and installing galvanized steel structures and major outdoor electrical equipment, installing Government-furnished transformers, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, shunt capacitor banks, and instrument transformers, providing a site constructed service building, and other additional items as described on the drawings and specifications. The work is located in McCone County, Montana. This solicitation is Full and Open Competition - Sealed Bids and the NAICS code is 237130. The estimated construction magnitude of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. All work is to be completed within 300 calendar days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed. All responsible business concerns may submit a bid which shall be considered by this Agency. This solicitation will be issued on or about August 30, 2011 and the projected bid opening date is September 29, 2011. A pre-bid site visit will not be held. Any non-U.S. (Foreign National) visiting or working at any Western Area Power Administration facility must receive prior written approval from the appropriate Western Security Manager. The solicitation, specifications and drawings, and any subsequent amendments will only be available in electronic format, downloadable at https://www.fbo.gov. It is the responsibility of the bidders to monitor the website for notices and amendments. Note: All bids for this IFB shall be mailed to Western Area Power Administration, 200 4th Street SW, Huron, SD 57350-2474.
