Description
SA1301-11-RP-0008 Solicitation THIS REQUIREMENT IS 100% SET-ASIDE FOR 8(a) BUSINESSES IN THE GREATER WASHINGTON, DC METRO AREA SERVICED BY THE WASHINGTON, DC SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION OFFICE. The NAICS code for this requirement is 238220 - Plumbing, Heating and Air-Conditioning Contractors. The small business size is $14.0 million. The US Department of Commerce intends to award one firm-fixed-price contract. This is a lowest price, technically acceptable source selection process. The US Department of Commerce requires that the NAICS code for this requirement be included in the selected vendor's Central Contractor Registration (CCR) before an award can be made. This requirement takes place in the basement in corridors 4 and 8 adjacent to the cafeteria, US Department of Commerce, 1401 Constitution Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20230. This requirement is to make repairs to defective underground piping and insulation to eliminate water leaks and heat transfer from steam condensate lines causing damage to floor tiles. Repair the finished floor so that it is level and replace all damaged tiles with new of like design and color. This contract will require the contractor to furnish all supervision, labor, parts, materials, tools and equipment to successfully perform the necessary demolition and repairs. The performance of this requirement cannot interfere with the day-to-day operation of the Agency during normal business hours Monday through Friday. The work is therefore limited to evenings, Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 PM EST to 5:00 AM EST the next morning and weekends between the hours of 8:00 PM, EST, Friday and 5:00 AM, EST, Monday. All waste, materials, supplies and equipment must be removed prior to the 5:00 AM Monday end time so it does not cause any problems during the normal business day. Site must be secured so as to enable use of corridors during normal working hours and not impede the use of the corridors or cafeteria. Space is available for storage of materials and equipment close to the job site within the building. A MANDATORY site visit has been scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011 and is to commence precisely at 1:00 PM EST and end at 3:00 PM EST. Late comers will not be accommodated and cannot participate in the site visit. Pictures, video and measurements may be taken during this visit. The Project Manager will be on-hand during the visit for any technical questions. No contracting questions will be answered at this time. Valid picture identification is required to attend this site visit. *In accordance with FAR Part 36.204 - Disclosure of the Magnitude of Construction Projects, the magnitude of construction for the entire project is estimated between $25,000 and $100,000.* Any technical questions may be presented during the site visit. No contracting questions will be answered. After the site visit all questions, technical and contracting, are to be submitted electronically via e-mail to the assigned Contract Specialist, Ray Staniewski at rstaniewski@doc.gov until 12:00 PM, EST, Monday, September 12, 2011.
