- The NAVSUP FLC Norfolk intends to solicit on a sole source basis with Miteq Inc., of Hauppauge NJ, for two each, of the following supplies, down-converter (D-9908-6-1K) and Up- converter (U-9956-6-1K). This requirement is in support of the United States Naval Observatory. Miteq Inc. will provide the supplies listed and modified to meet the required specifications of the Government. The Navy intends to solicit for a Firm Fixed Price Contract. This procurement is a sole source acquisition with Miteq under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. After extensive market research and product analysis Miteq was the only company identified with the necessary technical capability to fulfill the specifications of this requirement. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTE. The applicable NAICS code is 334290. Numbered Note 22: The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement by submission of a technical capabilities statement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all Technical Capability Statements received within three days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
