- The Contract Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Apple Inc cage code (58839) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The MWHS-2 Squadron, MCAS Cherry Point, NC has a requirement for 1 each MacBook Pro 17in, Quad-core intel core P/N Z0M3, includes: accessory Kit P/N 065-0149, Glossy Widescreen Display P/N 065/0132, 2.3GHz Guad-core Intel 17 P/N 065-0294, 8GB 1333MH DDR3 SDRAM 0 2X4GB P/N 065-0124, 512GB Solid State Drive P/N 065-0129, SuperDrive 8x (DVD +R DL/DVD+RW/CD-RW) p/n 065-0131, Backlit Keyboard (english)/Users Guide P/N 065-0146, ApplCore Protection Plan for MacBook Pro P/N S3137LL/A; 12 each Microsoft Office for Mac Home and Business 2011 P/N H2438LL/A; 12 each Magic Mouse P/N MB829LL/A; 12 each AppleCare Protection Plan P/N S3137LL/A; Market research has revealed this contractor is the only source capable of providing the required items. Similar items can not meet or can not be modified to meet the agency ™s need. Therefore, the government intends to procure these supplies on a sole source basis from Apple Inc. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all quotes received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered. Interested parties may identify their interest and unique capabilities to respond to this requirement or submit their quote. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
