- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue a sole source, firm fixed price purchase order to Dako North America, Inc., 6392 Via Real, Carpinteria, CA 93013, for one (1) Artisan Link Special Stains System with Workstations and monitor, Report Printer, Label Printer, Hand-held Barcode Scanner, to include shipping cost. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. To the best of our knowledge, only Dako North America, Inc. will satisfy the Agency's requirement because this is the only vendor that can provide a walk-away system that provides reliable and reproducible staining and numerous safety features including a sliding door to seal reagents in a ventilated enclosure as well as individual slide heating. There are separate special stain kits that allow for creation and customizing protocols and simultaneously run any combination of special stains. No solicitation is being issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals, however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement which, if received by the response date, shall be considered by the Agency. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within discretion of the Government.
