Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Sidney & Lamont Street, Building 205, Mountain Home, TN 37684 has a requirement for the installation of a Wireless Distributed Antenna System. This is notice of the intent to sole source with Johnson Controls, Inc., 2898 Boones Creek Road, Johnson City, TN 37601. The NAICS code for this project is 238210 with a size standard of $14.0 million. The Statutory Authority Permitting Other Than Full and Open Competition cited is: 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii) 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and U.S.C. 253(d)(1)(B). Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Supplies/services may be deemed to be available only from the original source in the case of a follow-on contract for the continued development or production of a major system or highly specialized equipment, including major components thereof, when it is likely that award to any other source would result in-(B) unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes, however; any firm that believes it can provide these services may give written notification to the Contract Specialist, Dana Dixon at dana.dixon@va.gov no later than 4:00 PM CST, September 2, 2011. Supporting evidence of the ability to install a Wireless Distributed Antenna System according to the attached specifications must be furnished in sufficient detail. No solicitation documents are available and no telephone requests will be honored. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the VA will proceed with the sole source negotiation to Johnson Controls, Inc.
