Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT The United States Department Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service, Appalachian Farming System Research Center intends to award a purchase order to Dionex Corporation, 1228 Titan Way, Sunnyvale, CA 94085-4015,on a sole source basis, a Corona Charged Aerosol Detector System. This sole source requirement meets the conditions of FAR 13.106-1(b) (1); only known manufacturer that can satisfy the government's need. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334516 and the Small Business size standard is 500 employees. This will be a firm fixed price contract. Specifications of the required system includes the following: Item 1 - Product number 6000.1001 - Power Cord (125V) 3xAWG18, 2.0 m -- QTY 1 EA Item 2 - Product number 70-9116 - Dionex Corona CAD Charged Aerosol Detector -- QTY 1 EA Item 3 - Product number 70-8285 - Gas Conditioning Module, in-line, for use at pressure inlet to Corona CAD detector- Includes: in-line high precision gas pressure regulator, particle filter (0.01 um) and moisture trap -- QTY 1 EA Item 4 - Product number 300008 - Installation Single Modules and Miscellaneous Items incl. Operator Orientation -- QTY 1 EA The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided under this notice. This synopsis does not constitute a solicitation, however all responsible sources that believe they can meet all of the requirements may submit a quote, which shall be considered. If no responses are received by 4:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, 31 AUGUST 2011, a Sole Source contract will be pursued with Dionex Corporation.
