- THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT, NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES. A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED ND QUOTES WILL NOT BE REQUESTED. The National Institutes of Health intends to issue a purchase order on a sole source basis with: TECHNICAL COMMUNITIES 1000 CHERRY Avenue Suite 100 San Bruno, CA 94066. No solicitation exits for this requirement. The products are commercial as defined in FAR part 2. The total contracted dollar amount will not exceed the Simplified Acquisition Threshold; therefore it will be procured under FAR 13.106. It is believed that Technical Communities is the sole source provider for this requirement under the authority of FAR Parts 13.106-1 (b). The National Institutes of Deafness and other Communication Diseases intends to procure an Applied Biosystems (AB) ViiA7 384 well instrument which will allow the program to study the human brain gene expression. The North American industry Classification System Code is 334515 and the size standard is 500. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes preparation. Any firm that believes it can provide the state capability within the established time frame is invited to submit written notification to the Contract Specialist by September 2 nd, 2011 at 1pm EST. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the firm's ability to provide the stated capability. Information can be sent to Contract Specialist, Aleise Roberts at aleiser@od.nih.gov. No telephone request will be accepted. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, NIH will proceed with the sole source purchase order.
