- Under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c) FAR Subpart 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii), the National Park Service, Pacific West Region Honolulu Major Acquisition Buying Office intends to award a sole source purchse order to YSI Incorporated for repair and preventative maintenance for a total of 9 (nine) sondes. A determination not to compete this proposed procurement was made because the equipment is manufactured by YSI Incorporated and they are the only firm that performs pressure testing after the repairs/preventive maintenance is completed. This is essential to the proper functioning of the equipment as they are very accurate underwater scientific measurement devices that must be water tight for accurate readings and data. Any firm that believes they have capabilities to provide this requirement may give written notification to the Contracting Officer, Joelle Mascarenas, no later than 2:00 PM HST, September 2, 2011. Interested offerors must provide supporting evidence of their capabilities to the Contracting Officer via email at: Joelle_Mascarenas@nps.gov. No solicitation documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored. Responses received will be evaluated, however, a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely wihin the discretion of the Government. If no reponses are received, the NPS will proceed with a purchase order to YSI Incorporated for the required sonde repairs. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS AND NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE.
